Book Visual Review #1: The History of Printmaking (Voyages of History)

Printmaking is one of many methods of creating art that history began when prehistoric humans dipped their hands in red clay and left prints on rocks. Through time, people discovered some techniques based on this method to express their thoughts by utilizing the rose of technology. The primary purpose of that action is to uplift the aesthetical value by providing a distinctive experience for the people when appreciating the artwork. Differing from painting, printmaking work is usually created in some editions that have the same quality as each other, multiple original works. Through that ability, artists can “speak” with many people about their ideas.

The History of Printmaking book guides readers back to the source of people’s knowledge about printmaking, then in stunning visuals and text, moves them forward through the present to the future. The graphics and special effects presented involve readers in an active exploration by experiencing interactive elements to represent the characters of printmaking work. With attractive visuals and easy-to-understand explanations, this book is recommended for younger people as an entry point to learning about printmaking.
